About
Hey, I’m Jessica.
I teach private and small-group yoga from a barn behind my house, in a village above the Tamar, and I keep it small on purpose.
I came to this the way most of my clients do: a desk, a neck that had become a problem, and a teacher training I signed up for to fix it. It fixed it, and then it took over. Nine years on, the thing I am best at is looking at how someone stands, sits and breathes and building them ten minutes a day that undoes what the rest of the day does.

The studio
A barn, six mats, and a door that opens onto the meadow.
It was a hay store when we arrived. Now it has a floor that is warm underfoot, a wood burner for the winter, and a glass door that slides back so that on a good morning the practice is half outside. Six mats fit without anyone touching. That felt like enough, and it still does.
How I teach
Three things I will not compromise on.
01
Small, on purpose
Six in a class and four in each Reset, because I want to see everyone, and because you can tell when a teacher is not looking.
02
Your week, not mine
A practice that assumes a free hour every day is a practice you will drop. Ten minutes that fits before the kettle boils is one you will keep.
03
Nothing to prove
I am not interested in what you can get into. I am interested in whether your shoulders are down by Friday.
How I got here
A short history.
2016
Trained in London while working in an office that had turned my neck into a problem. The training was supposed to fix that. It did, and then it took over.
2019
Started teaching private sessions in the evenings, one client at a time, mostly people from the office who had watched me stop wincing.
2022
Left the job. Moved west, to a village above the Tamar, and took the barn behind the house as a studio. Six mats fit. That felt like enough, and it still does.
2024
Ran the first meadow day because a client asked for one. Eight people came. All eight came to the next.
Today
Private sessions, small groups, a few teams in Plymouth and Exeter, and The Reset four times a year. I keep it small on purpose.
Training
What I trained in, and keep training in.
Registered with Yoga Alliance Professionals. Insured, first-aid trained, and still doing a course most years, because the breath work alone has changed twice since I started.

“Six people, and she knows all our names and all our bad knees. I have been to classes of forty where the teacher never looked up.”
“I went because my wife booked it. I slept in a field after lunch and I am not embarrassed about it. Booked the winter one myself.”
