About Voltiva

Eighteen years of
other people’s emergencies

Voltiva started with one van and a simple rule: quote a number, honour it, and leave the place tidier than we found it. That rule has survived eighteen years, three engineers and about two and a half thousand jobs.

We work on Victorian terraces with cloth-covered wiring and on three-phase panels in working factories. Same certificates, same fixed prices, same engineer turning up when they said they would.

The unglamorous half of the job is the half that matters

Testing, labelling, certifying and clearing up. Anyone can pull cable — the certificate is what you are actually buying.

Why choose Voltiva

Four things we will not compromise on

NICEIC approved, every job certified

Each install leaves with its certificate and a schedule of what was tested, not just an invoice.

Fixed prices, quoted before we start

You approve a number, not an estimate. Where a job runs short, the price comes down.

Out-of-hours calls answered by an engineer

A real engineer on the phone out of hours — not a call centre — and in the city we aim to have a van moving inside two hours.

One team, not a franchise

The engineer who quotes your job is the engineer who does it, and you get their number.

What customers say

The jobs people ring back about

Came out at half nine at night because the whole downstairs had gone. Found it in twenty minutes — a nail through a cable from when we had the floors done.
Hannah, PeverellEmergency call-out
Quoted for a full rewire, stuck to it, and worked round us being in the house with a toddler. The certificate came through the same afternoon they finished.
Dev, PlymptonFull rewire
We manage six units and Voltiva does all the periodic inspections. First contractor who explains the codes instead of just handing over a form.
Louise, EstoverCommercial EICR

Voltiva is a concept brand — these illustrate the kind of work the site is designed to carry, and are not real customer reviews.

How we work

Survey, fixed price,
then no surprises

Every job starts with an engineer actually looking at it — not a price over the phone from someone who has never seen your board. You get a written scope, a fixed number, and a date.

On the day we dust-sheet the room, work to the schedule we quoted, and hand over the certificate before we leave. If we find something genuinely unexpected behind a wall, we stop and talk to you before anything changes.

The engineers

The person who quotes it is the person who does it

Three engineers, no subcontractors, no call centre between you and the van.

What an EICR actually checks — and what a bad one misses

A periodic inspection is not a walk round with a torch. Here is the schedule we work through, what each code means, and the three shortcuts that make a certificate worthless.

Home EV charging: what your supply can take before it needs upgrading

Most homes do not need a supply upgrade to charge at 7kW — they need load balancing. What we measure on the survey, and when the answer really is a bigger fuse.
